A conference held in Tashkent on June 15 was dedicated to ensuring social stability, preserving the true essence and content of our holy Islam religion. Heads of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, religious figures, activists of Nuroniy and Mahalla funds, Women Committee, Kamolot PYM, representatives of khokimiyats, law enforcement agencies, scientists and cultural figures, leaders and students of Islamic educational institutions, and representatives of the public attended the event.
The President of the Republic of Uzbekistan Shavkat Mirziyoyev addressed the conference.
The head of our state noted that today along with all spheres of our life, it is very important to raise to a new stage works in the social and spiritual direction, further strengthening the healthy atmosphere in families, mahallas, in society as a whole through strengthening interethnic and inter-confessional friendship and cohesion, increasing attention to the education of youth, preservation of the true essence and content of the sacred religion of Islam.
As known, one of the most important factors for ensuring social stability in any society is achievement of people's trust, embodiment of its hopes and aspirations. A huge work has been carried out in this direction in our country in recent years. The activities of the People's Reception and the Virtual Reception of the President of Uzbekistan have been organized, which have become an important institution for ensuring interests and alleviating people's concerns.
The head of our state stressed that dialogue with the people is not a temporary campaign, as some think, but an invariable priority of state policy, a question that is at the center of constant attention.
There are representatives of more than 130 nations and nationalities, various religious confessions today in Uzbekistan, who live and work in peace and harmony. All conditions have been created for them to preserve and develop their national culture, traditions and customs. There are 138 national cultural centers in our country. To raise their activity to a new stage and further develop cultural ties with foreign countries, the Committee on Interethnic Relations and Friendly Relations with Foreign Countries under the Cabinet of Ministers of the Republic of Uzbekistan was established on the basis of the Republican International Cultural Center.
Since the first years of independence, priority has been given to ensuring freedom of conscience in our country. Much has been done to preserve the purity of our sacred religion, the revival of national values, the reverence of memory and preservation of the heritage of our great ancestors, improvement of places of their repose, and this process consistently continues.
At the same time, as was emphasized at the conference, the rich history, the culture of our country, which is one of the cradles of Islamic science and culture, the life and priceless spiritual heritage of our great thinkers, has not yet been fully explored.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev dwelled in detail on the work on establishment the Islamic Culture Center of Uzbekistan in Tashkent that began in order to fully study the rich historical, scientific and spiritual heritage of our people, to popularize it among the world community, and the most important, profound disclosure of the truly humanistic essence and content of the religion of Islam.
This center gathered extensive information about the great Islamic scholars and thinkers, outstanding poets and writers, artists and calligraphers who have made an invaluable contribution to the development of world culture.
The head of our state stressed the need to strengthen dialogue with youth by raising the level of knowledge, education, life and effective examples to instill in them a healthy attitude to religion.
President Shavkat Mirziyoyev expressed his views on increasing the effectiveness of the activities of the Muslim Board of Uzbekistan, creating amenities for organizations and religious workers operating under it.
Speakers at the conference noted that the speech of the head of our state is permeated with a noble desire to resolve urgent issues that directly affect the fate and future of our country, the life of each of our compatriots, especially the younger generation, it details the actions in this direction, called for active participation in implementation of these tasks, for uniting and showing dedication along this path.
